Further Research

Below is a short list of schoolhouse museums in Canada. Some are part of a complete heritage village with on-site animators acting as typical residents of the time. Others are much smaller, but often hold rich collections of local historical interest.

We encourage visitors to use the "Museum in Canada" search tool on the Virtual Museum of Canada website [] and to consult provincial and regional museum associations to locate some of the smaller establishments that keep alive the history and cultural heritage of communities across Canada.
