How to Search

Search Help

Posters and broadsides in the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) collection can be searched using any of the following:

Search All provides combined search results of all Library and Archives Canada's (LAC) database and website materials.

Example: Type "poster", "in-plano", or both "poster" and "in-plano" in the keyword input box.

Archives Search limits your search results to posters and possibly some broadsides in LAC's archival materials.

Example: Type "poster" to find posters using either the Basic or Advanced Search screens.

(Note: Using either "broadside" or "in-plano" as a keyword will provide minimal to no results.)

Library Search limits your search results to broadsides and possibly some posters in LAC's published materials.

Example: Select "Any Keyword" in the drop-down menu, and type "in-plano" in the text box on the Advanced Search screen.

(Note: Using either "poster" or "posters" will provide minimal to no results.)

AMICUS also provides results for broadsides, and possibly some posters, from LAC's published materials.

Example: Select "Any Keyword" in the drop-down menu, and type "in-plano" in the text box on the Advanced Search screen.

(Note: Using either "poster" or "posters" will provide minimal to no results.)

Important, please note: Digitized broadsides currently have not been linked to their respective records. Library and Archives Canada is working on this issue and regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
