Series consists of drafts of outgoing correspondence from the Civil Secretary's office, 1795-1841, which have been formed into a series with two rough registers of correspondence received, 1830-1834. Many drafts are inseparable from the incoming correspondence and remain with it in series A 1. The final text of outgoing letters is recorded in the letterbooks (see RG 7, G 15 C for 1788-1829 and RG 4, C 2 for 1763-1771, 1812-1819 and 1828-1841). A quantity of post-1841 drafts (volumes 1 and 104-106), apparently the work of the Provincial Secretary, may be transferred to RG 4, C 2 when their identity is confirmed.
