This file consists of posters, handbills, newspaper clippings, and other printed material relating to slavery in the United States, fugitive slaves in Canada, the Buxton mission, the anti-slavery movement, and the work of Rev. William King. It is paginated 836-935. Three posters for public meetings, titled "Fugitive Slaves in Canada", have been removed from this file for separate horizontal storage as container 3. They include Buxton Mission, 3 Sept. 1860; The Free Church, 18 Nov. 1859 (pages 861-862); and St. Thomas Church, 12 Dec. 1859 (pages 864-865). Two posters for public meetings in Scotland titled "Fugitive Slaves in Canada" have been removed from this file for separate horizontal storage as volume 4. The meetings, featuring King and William H. Day, were held in Free South Leith Church, 28 Nov. 1859 (page 860), and the Free Church in Dumfries, 29 Aug 1860 (page 863).
