Gallery - The Faces of War

Photography was frequently used to document the government's many domestic responses to international conflict. These photographs illustrate how war-related policies affected and contributed to the diversity of Canada; they depict immigration as a humanitarian effort, and illustrate how the repression of certain populations and the sheltering of others was thought to help the Commonwealth in times of war.
