With such revealing titles as "Dump the Bosses Off Your Back," "I'm Too Old to be a Scab," and "There is Power in a Union," it is not surprising that this songbook of the radical, American-based, revolutionary union, the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), hoped to "fan the flames of discontent." The IWW was one of many radical unions that gained popularity among discontented Canadian workers in the wake of the First World War.
