The National Library offers a specialized reference service in library and information science. Resources include an extensive library science collection of books and periodicals, as well as access to standard library literature indexes and several in-house databases focusing on Canadian library information.

Information is provided on employment resources, upcoming meetings and conferences, and library education. A library and information science discussion list (BIBCANLIB-L) is provided on the Internet.
